What a fantastic place. Called in for the first time as it looked cosy as we were passing. Intended to have one quick drink and had 3 instead and stopped for a good three hours. We met some lovely locals and had a good chat and a very pleasant afternoon. The landlord is excellent , a genuine proper landlord just like it should be with a great personality and service. The Murphys stout was perfect. If the hospitality industry had more places and people like him then it wouldn’t be in such of a decline. All the modern day pubs need to take a leaf out of his book instead of being so faceless like most are. I will definitely be booking a night at this place. 100% to the Landlord for creating a bar with atmosphere and making Simone , Purdey and I very welcome. Highly recommend a visit and you won’t be disappointed.

Stumbled across this this cracking spot, popped in for what I thought was a quick pint. This turned into an afternoon of great conversation & entertanment hosted by a proper landlord who keeps his beer in top condition. Well defo be in again when we next visit Sandsend

This place is a must visit but only to meet the most incredible landlord in the world! Acerbic dialogue delivered in a monotone that dissolves away consciousness. We are still in stitches days after our visit.

Stayed here before and it was good but won't stay again. Price has gone up. Says it is a dog friendly hotel but nowhere to eat breakfast with the dog! It meant I had to dine separately to my dad and partner. Only room key given with no info or key for the main door or explanation of when breakfast was. Didn't feel overly welcome like we were introduding in someone's house.

Don't ask for food. The choices are ready salted or cheese and onion! Lol.

Like a Curates egg, good in parts. Friendly people, our room was good and clean, fantastic sea view and the best breakfast I have had for years. However the hotel is very tired three doors to get through into the bar, each quite scruffy. The bar/reception very tired and scruffy and closed when we arrived back for a drink at 20.30. Despite this I enjoyed my stay. £110 is too much £80 would be more appropriate.
